Miriam Shumulinsky, LLPC
Miriam completed her Master’s degree in Psychology at the University of Baltimore, Maryland. She also attended the University of Detroit Mercy to complete an additional 600 internship hours to qualify for her Michigan license.
She is trained to work with individuals, families and groups and a broad range of populations, ages and diagnoses. Miriam was trained in neurofeedback and integrates her knowledge of neuropsychology in her conceptualization and treatment of clients. In addition, she utilizes acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to help clients reframe the role that their challenges and issues play in their life.
Miriam strongly believes that when people choose to begin living their lives and are mindful of their everyday experiences, their ability to transcend their issues is remarkable, and reported distress decreases. Miriam works with clients to facilitate the process of healing in a compassionate and empathic manner.
She sees clients here at Shalva Monday through Thursday.
